Enjoy a lovely fall day in Cambridge, Massachusetts and explore the renowned Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University. Participants will have three tour options: the Straus Center for Conservation and Technical Studies, a tour of the newly renovated Museum building, designed by famed architect, Renzo Piano, or a tour of the permanent collection with Lyman Allyn Director Sam Quigley, who worked at The Fogg Art Museum for 6 years. Please note that the number of people for both the Conservation Center and the Renzo Piano building tours will be capped at twelve people each and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Please make your tour preference known when reserving your spot.
After the tours, there will be time to explore the collections and enjoy lunch on your own in Harvard Square. Special exhibitions on view will include: The Philosophy Chamber: Art and Science in Harvard’s Teaching Cabinet, 1766-1820; Technologies of the Image: Art in 19th Century Iran; and Women in South Asian Art. The bus will leave for New London promptly at 4:30 pm.
