Inspired by the beautiful flower paintings in the Elizabeth Enders exhibit, activities for the day include sponge-print garden paintings and tempera batik flower paintings. Clay will be on-hand to create your own garden sculpture! Explore the current exhibits with interactive, family-friendly gallery searches.
Free film screening at 2 pm: Great Women Artists: Georgia O’Keeffe
Shown in conjunction with the Elizabeth Enders exhibit, this biographical documentary explores O'Keeffe's productive career, her marriage to Stieglitz and her unique style of abstract painting. Running time 45 minutes.

Film: Scrabylon
In conjunction with the What’s the Word? exhibit the Museum presents Scrabylon, a charming documentary that invites viewers to delve into the world of Scrabble-mania and ultra-competitive Scrabble tournaments. This film explores the board game subculture by following several players at the World Scrabble Championship in Las Vegas. Competitors include "GI" (gastrointestinal) Joel Sherman, the world's only professional Scrabble player; Zen Scrabble master Joe Edley; and Scrabble's first child prodigy, Brian Cappelletto. This film is not rated. Running time 51 minutes. Free with admission.

Free film screening at 2 pm: Great Women Artists: Frida Kahlo
Shown in conjunction with the Elizabeth Enders exhibit, this examination of Kahlo's bold art shows her lifelong struggle with severe pain, as well as by her turbulent relationship with fellow artist and husband Diego Rivera. Although most of the recognition for her art came posthumously, she lived her life -- and infused her work -- with great passion. Running time 45 minutes.

Film: Wordplay
In conjunction the What’s the Word? exhibit, the Museum will screen Patrick Creadon's documentary reveals a fascinating look at the addictive pastime of crossword puzzles. Creadon captures New York Times editor Will Shortz working with crossword puzzle builders, talks to celebrity solvers -- including Bill Clinton and Ken Burns -- and presents an intimate look at the national tournament and its competitors. Rated PG. Running time 85 minutes. Free with admission.
