Bus Trip to the Cloisters & Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City
Wednesday, April 4, 7:45am–7:00pm
$75 members/ $90 non-members (includes bus travel, museum admissions and tour)

This exciting day trip is co-presented with the Mystic Arts Center. Come explore two New York City gems: The Cloisters and Metropolitan Museum of Art. The day begins with a guided tour of The Cloisters museum and gardens, the branch of The Metropolitan devoted to the art and architecture of medieval Europe. The Cloisters was assembled from architectural elements, both domestic and religious, that date from the twelfth through the fifteenth century. From there, we ride the bus to the Metropolitan. At arrival, travelers will be greeted by Thayer Tolles, Associate Curator of American Sculpture, and Clinton Standart, Egyptian Specialist in the Education Department. Lunch on your own at the Met's café and the afternoon is free to self-guide the expansive galleries. Enjoy the newly opened American Wing or exhibitions such as "Rembrandt and Degas", "Storytelling in Japanese Art" and "The Steins Collect: Matisse, Picasso, and the Parisian Avant-Garde." The bus boards promptly at 4 pm.

Advanced reservations are required. To reserve your space, contact the Education Department at 860-443-2545 x110. Bus departs from and returns to the parking lot of Lyman Allyn Art Museum, 625 Williams Street, New London.
