THE LYMAN ALLYN ART MUSEUM AWARDED FUNDING FOR FREE FIRST SATURDAY PROGRAM

New London – The Lyman Allyn Art Museum is pleased to announce that it has been awarded $5,000 by People’s United Bank for continued support and sponsorship of the Lyman Allyn’s Free First Saturday program.

“I’d like to especially thank Dianne Kent and Connie Simos at People’s United Bank,” said Sam Quigley, Director of the Lyman Allyn. “Our long standing commercial banking relationship with People’s United is greatly appreciated, and so too is the generous support and commitment to our larger community that is clearly embedded in the culture of People’s United Bank.”

Free First Saturdays have become a key educational event for the Lyman Allyn as well as a prominent component of the Museum’s community engagement. Through the generous support from People’s United, the Museum is able to offer opportunities for children and parents to participate in arts and culture together.

Families from towns throughout eastern Connecticut come to the Museum on Free First Saturdays to participate in the many activities that are designed specifically for enjoyment by all ages.  Each month the Lyman Allyn offers hands-on, age-appropriate art activities, and tours of the exhibitions.
