The Lyman Allyn Art Museum believes that funding should not be a factor when it comes to the cultural enrichment of the region’s school children. Through the Yellow Bus Fund, we are pleased to cover the cost of field trips for schools that would normally find this cost prohibitive when planning a visit. Because of overwhelming interest in the Yellow Bus Fund, the Lyman Allyn will provide a full subsidy for New London public schools. The subsidy includes the cost of transportation, tour, the materials for a “hands-on” curriculum-based project, and the art educators. The Yellow Bus Fund also covers costs associated with our Summer Art Camp and provides scholarships for deserving New London public school students to attend.
The Lyman Allyn uses the annual fundraising gala to raise funds for the Yellow Bus Program. Your contribution is greatly appreciated: $178 is the average cost of field trip transportation and $250 is the cost of a “hands on” art component for one classroom. The cost of the program on an annual basis is approximately $50,000.
