In light of current health concerns, we postponed our April fundraiser, Soaring and Scrumptious: A Classy and Casual Confection, to June 6th. After further consideration of all the precautionary civic messages, we have set a new date for our party – Saturday, August 8th. Along with the changed date, come a few happy coincidences, like holding this celebration in the fresh air, out-of-doors and under tents in front of the Museum. We’ll also provide individual summer-time dinners in pretty pink boxes, and individual desserts perfectly matched with our confectionery theme! Peter Anton’s exhibition, Sweet Dreams, will be open for your pleasure, of course. We’ll hold the silent auction, an exciting live one too, and a “Raise-the-Lollipop” finale to replenish the Yellow Bus Fund! A delicious, relaxing and fun time is guaranteed, just when we will all need it after these long days of being trapped indoors!
Our annual fundraiser has always played a key role in providing the essential support for the Museum’s daily functioning and education programs. Now, with the coronavirus crisis, we need your strong support more than ever! Our newly rescheduled summer fête offers a lovely and delightful opportunity to enjoy renewed comradery and celebrate how essential the Lyman Allyn is to the vibrancy of cultural life in our area. With the extraordinary artistic theme of the party and imperatives of these extraordinary times, Soaring and Scrumptious may well be the one event of the Summer not to be missed! Help us now, buy your tickets in advance, and tell your friends, too!
Invitations were printed and mailed before the fundraiser was originally postponed. If you already made your reservation, it will be transferable to August 8th. If you cannot join us on the new date, we will be happy to issue a full refund, unless you would like to convert your purchase into a tax-deductible gift to support the Museum.
If you have not yet purchased your tickets, please do so soon! We need your support now and are accepting checks or credit card payments only through the mail. We look forward to celebrating with you on August 8th!
