Join us for our new enriching and educational lecture series, “Collecting Explored!”

Presenter: Christopher Steiner, Professor of Art History and Anthropology at Connecticut College

Steiner will discuss the challenges and opportunities of collecting art and material culture in the digital age. From eBay to LiveAuctioneers there exists today a whole range of online venues that allow collectors to target-search, track and acquire an almost limitless range of art, artifacts, antiques and ephemera. The presentation will offer practical advice for online collecting, bidding and “sniping”; and will draw from Steiner’s personal experience in collecting everything from 19th-century copper kitchen molds to African art to vintage postcards and vernacular photography. Reception to follow the presentation.

*Special discounted rate for all three lectures: $25 members / $40 non-members
RSVP’s required, please contact the Museum at: 860.443.2545 ext. 129 or email us.
