Celia de Fréine – a clear eye, a light touch and a voice that doesn’t falter

Born in Ireland, Celia de Fréine is a poet, playwright and screenwriter who writes in both Irish and English.

Lia Mills writes: “All writing is an act of translation.  The writer interprets worlds: some real, some imagined and some that occupy a fertile border between the two … In recent years it’s become trendy to speculate as to how Irish literature might develop in the future, as the many-accented voices and stories of immigrant groups filter into it.  These groups are often coyly referred to as ‘the New Irish’.”

Please join us to for an afternoon with this elegant, witty  and thought-provoking woman.
