Free admission & ParkingSummer Fest is FREE for everyone and will feature food trucks, live entertainment (amplified, unplugged, performance and participatory), and family friendly activities on our grounds and inside the Museum. The entire Museum will be open during this event, so you can explore all of our exhibits. It’s a perfect event to spend with friends and family. Bring them all! In the event of rain, everything but the food trucks will move indoors to the Museums galleries, auditorium, and art/dance studio.
Featuring: Food trucks * live entertainment * family activities * art projects * face painting & balloon creations by TeachArt2Me * the incredible “Don’t Burst My Bubble” program from the Children’s Museum of Southeastern CT * animals from the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center * live birds of prey from “A Place Called Hope” * henna art by Henna Vana * and much more!
Performers include: The Rivergods * Ron Murray * Christine Cooney * Ramblin’ Dan Stevens * and more!
The Rivergods will perform their “heartfelt harmony-rich folky/rootsy/rockfish” unique style of music. Ron Murray combines Spanish influences with standards and original compositions featuring 7-string guitar and percussion. Christine Cooney performs her many musical styles ranging from RnB to Rock n Roll, classic Blues and Jazz. Bluesman Ramblin’ Dan Stevens shares his repertoire of American roots music to classic folk.
Bring a blanket and explore the grounds of the Lyman Allyn, including the McCourt 9/11 Memorial Garden and our outdoor sculpture trail. Summer Fest volunteers will be on hand for brief tours of our current exhibitions.
