Free First Saturdays
Come ready for fun artful learning (be sure to dress for mess!).

- April 1: April Fools Surprise Cards
- Celebrate April Fool’s Day by making pop-up cards. Hide a surprise for someone and see if you can make them jump!
- May 6: Spring Wings
- See the exhibition Small Wonders: Insects in Focus and create your own creature with interesting wings.
- June 3: Super Style
- Take inspiration from the special exhibition about artist Barkley Hendricks and create mixed media paper dolls. Be inspired by the interesting fashion featured in the exhibition.

Science Saturdays
This fun drop-in program encourages participants to explore the intersections between art and science.
Time: 11 AM – 1 PM in the art studio

- March 18: In my perspective…
- Learn about one-point linear perspective while being inspired by the photography exhibition Where Children Sleep. Use measuring tools to translate your three-dimensional life into a spatially accurate two-dimensional drawing.
- April 15: For the Birds
- Celebrate Spring by making a bird feeder. Learn about what birds live in this geographic area and what is nutritious for their bodies.
- May 20: Bugging Out
- Legs, and wings, and pincers, oh my! Inspired by the exhibition Small Wonders: Insects in Focus, investigate the beauty of bugs while learning about different insect exoskeletons. Use pastels to design your own insect pattern.
- June 17: Sun Prints
- Celebrate the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, and harness the power of the sun! Learn about how the earth’s rotation makes some days “longer” and some “shorter” while making prints in the sun.
