Join the Lyman Allyn for fun artful learning over Spring Break! Workshops are half-day, drop-off programs, where we explore the Museum and create art. Workshops are designed for children ages 6-12 and run from 9:30 am – 12 pm. Sign up for just one, or all four!

Tuesday, April 11: Wonderous Bugs
Enjoy learning about bugs and nature with the “Small Wonders” exhibition. Make a “puffy” giant butterfly and patchwork bugs to take home.
Wednesday, April 12: Celebrating My Life
Take inspiration from the exhibition “Where Children Sleep.” Paint a self-portrait and make a diorama of your room.
Thursday, April 13: Marvelous Mashups
Learn about the different ways collage and assemblages have been used in fine art. Make your own mixed media 2D and 3D works of art.
Friday, April 14: On Land and in the Sea
Enjoy looking at local land and seascapes on view in the Museum’s permanent collection. Use a variety of painting materials to represent scenes of our southeastern Connecticut surroundings.
