Drop-in Artmaking
Guests of all ages are invited to join our monthly evening art night led by a member of the Learning & Engagement Department. Each activity is inspired by a different exhibition, theme, or artwork. Art supplies are provided. No registration is required. Stop by our art table for 5 minutes or two hours and make something to bring home!
- September 3 – Shephard Fairy Farewell
- Be sure to visit FACING THE GIANT: THREE DECADES OF DISSENT during its final days on view. Then just as Shepard Fairey made stickers in his early days, you will design and make your own graphic-inspired sticker to bring home.
- October 1 – Pocket-Sized Portraits
- Explore Isaac Sheffield: Portraits from New London’s Whaling Era and become inspired to create your own miniature portrait.
- November 5 –
- There will be no First Thursday this month. The Museum is hosting an event for the annual New England Museum Association Annual Conference.
- December 3 – Holiday Book Fair with Bank Square Books
- Take a much-needed pause during the holiday season to create a mixed media masterpiece inspired by Lydia Viscardi: Time Takes Time. While you’re here stop by the Hendel Library for a pop-up book fair to help with your holiday shopping.
Evening Hours
Not interested in artmaking? Stop by after work to check out that exhibition you’ve been meaning to see.
