It’s an exciting time to be part of the Lyman Allyn family. It takes a multitude of donations to nurture the Power of Art – and gift by gift is how we get it done.
Through your unrestricted gift to the Founder’s Challenge, you help us animate every aspect of the Museum’s mission to collect, preserve, and share the works of art under our care, now and for generations to come.
Your support at any level allows the Lyman Allyn to make art accessible and inspirational to all.
You help us to present new and established artists, and to bring more voices and variety to the community through special exhibitions.
Your support enables us to offer a wide range of educational programs for adults and children – from school trips and summer camps to diverse lecture series and art classes, and, to make these programs accessible to all, regardless of financial circumstances.

Spotlight on the Yellow Bus Fund
The Yellow Bus Fund enables the Lyman Allyn to provide subsidies to cover transportation, tours, materials for “hands-on” curriculum-based projects, and the art educators for schoolchildren.
- 100% of the costs for New London Public Schools
- 75% of the bus costs for New London County schools
- 50% transportation expenses for all other schools in the state
- A portion of the costs associated with our Summer Art Immersion program (including several scholarships to New London public school students who otherwise could not attend)
