Come ready for fun artful learning (be sure to dress for mess!).

- Celebrate the final weekend of the special portraits by Barkley L. Hendricks on loan from Art Bridges. Take inspiration from Brenda P.‘s iconic outfit, and create something using the color RED!
- Dress in an iconic outfit and take your picture in front of the works.
- Enjoy jazz music by JHunter Group from 2-4 pm while exploring American Perspectives.
- June 1: Primary Painting
- Enjoy the abstract design of Connecticut artist Power Boothe before creating your own painting using primary colors.
- July 6: Under my Umbrella
- It is great to have fun in the sun, but be sure to relax in some shade as well! Make your own Beach Umbrella collage for July’s Free First Saturday.
- August 3: Pathway Prints
- Take inspiration from the work of Imna Arroyo and her special exhibition Opening Paths. Make a foam print that reflects your ideas of destiny.
- September 7: Palette Knife Painting
- Did you know that artists don’t always use brushes to paint? Try out painting with a palette knife and other art room tools.

This fun drop-in program encourages participants to explore the intersections between art and science.

- May 18: Earth Fest- Offsite Science Saturday!
- Find the table at the Earthfest CT 2024 event at McCook Point Park in East Lyme, CT. This free family event celebrates the idea that Earth Day is Every Day! Learn more on their site: https://www.earthdayeverydayct.org/ . At Lyman Allyn’s spot, learn about different types and the science behind clouds. Explore the different images of clouds depicted in Lyman Allyn’s collections. Create a cloud to take home with you.

- Join us for a special final Science Saturday with activities from the Lyman Allyn Art Museum and the CT Science Center
- Geometric Sun Catchers 11am-1pm
- Gain inspiration from the geometric designs by painter and printmaker Power Boothe. Make your own sun catcher to celebrate shapes, colors, and light.
- CT Science Center: Bubbles 1pm-3pm
