In recognition of Native American Heritage Month, join us a tour of The Land You Stand On with guest Curator Brooke Waldron. This exhibition brings together Native and Indigenous artists whose works collectively address themes of visibility, belonging, land, identity, memory, and self-representation. As a whole, the exhibition reflects the lived experiences and artistic expression of Indigenous communities while drawing attention to the historic underrepresentation of Native and Indigenous artists within museums, galleries, and the broader art sector.

Rather than focusing on individual creative processes, this tour will explore how the exhibition functions as a collective conversation, challenging omissions in art history, expanding public understanding of Indigenous experiences, and demonstrating the diversity of contemporary Native and Indigenous artistic expression. Participants will be invited to consider how art can foster dialogue, deepen connections to place, and create opportunities for greater recognition and support of Indigenous practice.

Through guided discussion, visitors will gain insight into the broader themes that unite the exhibition and the importance of creating space for Native and Indigenous perspectives within cultural institutions today.
